PETERS CREEK RETIREMENT COMMUNITY is an Independent Living Community located in REDMOND, WA. Independent Living in Washington is typically for 55+ adults who are fully independent, but no longer wish to care for a household. In WA, the design of Independent Living Facilities may vary from large apartment / resort style facilities to townhome or cottage neighborhoods. Independent Living comes with a community of like-minded individuals, and is a highly social setting with common areas for residents, communal dining halls for (optional) meal plans and other various amenities. Many offer local transportation for residents. Independent Living is perfect for someone who needs no daily assistance of any kind, but prefers to spend less time on household chores such as housekeeping, laundry and meal preparation. Independent Living Communities are not suitable for residents who require any assistance with Activities of Daily Living. Independent Living communities typically have a staff of housekeepers, kitchen/dining room staff and concierge, but no caregivers. PETERS CREEK RETIREMENT COMMUNITY does not allow smoking on the premises, but they do allow the use of Vapor/E-cigarettes in designated areas. They have one or more designated areas outside where Vapor/E-cigarette users can vape away from the building and away from other residents. Vaping indoors or anywhere outside the designated areas is strictly prohibited.

Short-Term / Respite Care:

PETERS CREEK RETIREMENT COMMUNITY offers Short-Term / Respite Care with daily rates for anyone who needs to stay for less than a month. Respite Care services can offer relief for current caregivers, allowing them to take a much-needed break.

Specialized Care for Adults with Developmental Disabilities:

With a specialty in caring for adults with developmental disabilities, they have the certifications, expertise and experience to accommodate and care for disabled adults through all stages of life.

Hospice Care:

Does Medicaid Cover Independent Living?

PETERS CREEK RETIREMENT COMMUNITY accepts Medicaid, and they may offer other types of care within the same facility or campus such as Assisted Living, Skilled Nursing or Memory Care which would work with Medicaid. However, Medicaid does NOT cover Independent Living room and board - which includes monthly rent, meal plan costs and other monthly community fees. Medicaid is a type of health insurance, and Independent Living is for individuals who are fully independent, and don’t need any medical assistance or care. Independent Living is more of a luxury lifestyle upgrade (concierge, housekeeping, laundry service, meals) than a medical necessity. If however, you are already living in Independent Living and paying out of pocket and there’s a change to your physical or mental health, and you start needing assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), there may be certain waivers available. There are waivers designed to keep individuals as independent as possible - living at home rather than in Assisted Living, which may cover certain services such as Home Health Aides, Personal Care and Housekeeping among others. Each state has very different Medicaid qualifications, rules, and limits, as well as different available waiver programs. Please contact your state’s Medicaid office to determine what you need to do in order to get an official assessment, and if you qualify for any waiver programs

Meals

Breakfast, lunch and dinner are included every day. Accommodations can be made for any dietary restrictions or special doctor-prescribed diets. Additional food items such as coffee, tea and snacks between meals are also included.

Medications Management

Medications Management is provided as a service for all residents. Caregivers and staff keep track of administration schedules as well as prescription refill schedules.

Blood Pressure and Weight Checks

Regular blood pressure and weight checks are done at scheduled intervals, and recorded to track irregularities.

Housekeeping and Laundry

PETERS CREEK RETIREMENT COMMUNITY does all daily housekeeping throughout the home as well as in your room. Laundry is provided for your flat linens on a set schedule or sooner if needed. Your personal laundry is also washed and folded regularly by care staff.

Activities

A range of social and recreational activities are offered every week to keep residents occupied, entertained and engaged. Feel free to ask what types of activities are scheduled for this week.
