Our goal at The Ponderosa Assisted Living and Retirement is to allow our residents to live as independently as possible. We work with residents, their family, doctors, pharmacists, and other providers to maintain a consistent plan to enhance the quality of care.

Assisted Living

Assisted living residents receive the same amenities as our independent residents with additional medical services. Specialized care programs and additional services will allow residents to live as independent as possible. We offer 24-hour licensed care and every apartment is equipped with an emergency pull cord. Ponderosa has a great team of caregivers on site 24/7. We also have licensed nurses on site 5 days a week and on call 24 hours/day to offer the extra peace of mind that your loved one is in good hands. Pondersosa care staff is able to provide residents with assistance in basic activities of daily living, such as bathing, grooming, dressing, and medication assistance.

Respite Care

Respite care refers to a short-term stay at a community serving seniors, typically an assisted living facility.  Respite care is a great temporary living option for an elderly person who needs some day-to-day supportive services and desires social stimulation, with an opportunity to engage in activities.

At Ponderosa Retirement we offer respite stays with a minimum of two weeks extending to a maximum of 30 days. Our respite suite is 436 square feet and completely furnished with all the comforts of home.

Our Director of Nursing Services will be happy to meet with you and your loved one to determine if our respite program is a good fit.

Independent Living

If you are looking for a lifestyle free of household responsibilities, look no further, we have you covered! Allow us to do cooking, cleaning and yard work to ensure your days are carefree. Independent living at The Ponderosa has many amenities that still allow you to feel independent and in control without having to worry about keeping up with household responsibilities.

PONDEROSA RETIREMENT CENTER does not allow smoking on the premises, but they do allow the use of Vapor/E-cigarettes in designated areas. They have one or more designated areas outside where Vapor/E-cigarette users can vape away from the building and away from other residents. Vaping indoors or anywhere outside the designated areas is strictly prohibited.

With a specialty in caring for adults with developmental disabilities, they have the certifications, expertise and experience to accommodate and care for disabled adults through all stages of life.

Hospice Care:

They provide personalized and compassionate hospice care services for residents and their families during the end-stages of life. Respect and dignity are top priorities for residents and their families – especially during these times.

What is the cost?

The base price is $95 per day or $2,950 per month. There's a lot that's included in the base price, but assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) is typically not included. ADLs are common daily tasks such as grooming, dressing, eating and bathing (among others). The final price is different for each resident, and is determined according to how much daily care and assistance with ADLs is required each day.

What's included in the base price?

PONDEROSA RETIREMENT CENTER provides 24/7 supervision, emergency assistance and daily companionship as a base service for all residents.

Meals

Breakfast, lunch and dinner are included every day. Accommodations can be made for any dietary restrictions or special doctor-prescribed diets. Additional food items such as coffee, tea and snacks between meals are also included.

Medications Management

Medications Management is provided as a service for all residents. Caregivers and staff keep track of administration schedules as well as prescription refill schedules.

Blood Pressure and Weight Checks

Regular blood pressure and weight checks are done at scheduled intervals, and recorded to track irregularities.

Housekeeping and Laundry

PONDEROSA RETIREMENT CENTER does all daily housekeeping throughout the home as well as in your room. Laundry is provided for your flat linens on a set schedule or sooner if needed. Your personal laundry is also washed and folded regularly by care staff.

Activities

A range of social and recreational activities are offered every week to keep residents occupied, entertained and engaged. Feel free to ask what types of activities are scheduled for this week.

Utilities

All standard home utilities are included in the base price. (This excludes personal cell phone plans which are paid for by the resident or family.)

Transportation

Local transportation for certain scheduled outings, as well as doctor visits is provided at no additional cost.
