About Platinum Care

 

I developed my love for the elderly as a very small child, I accompanied my mother on all her patient home visits and was intrigued with the elderly and fell in love with providing care and meeting their needs. I worked as a caregiver at the early age of sixteen for twelve years, this is when I discovered my true passion and realized this is what I was meant to do! My love for the elderly and caring for others only intensified, giving me a great deal of satisfaction. I then attended nursing school and graduated with honors, obtaining my nursing license in January 2001. I have an innate sense of compassion, advocacy, honesty, loyalty, and most importantly, a genuine sense of caring for everyone under my care. All the while, sensitivity and dedication to the nursing field drives my decision making. I have boundless amounts of energy and possess an amazing ability to make all my patients feel nurtured while maintaining their dignity and utmost respect.

Platinum Care 365 is an Adult Family Home situated in Oak Harbor, WA. Adult Family Homes in Washington are typically licensed to care for no more than 6 residents. WA adult family homes are essentially residential single-family-homes in regular residential neighborhoods. They offer a much more intimate and familiar home-like setting, compared to larger commercial Assisted Living Facilities. Adult family homes typically employ more caregivers per resident than larger facilities, which allows them to provide more personal care and attention to each of their residents.
Platinum Care 365 currently has a room available, and is looking for the right resident to join their home. The available room listed here is private, meaning you get the entire room to yourself. The bathroom is shared between you and one or more of the residents in the home.

Pets:

Platinum Care 365 does not allow pets. This does not necessarily mean there are no pets in the facility, but that they do not allow residents to bring their own.

Smoking Policy:

Platinum Care 365 does not allow smoking on the premises, but they do allow the use of Vapor/E-cigarettes in designated areas. They have one or more designated areas outside where Vapor/E-cigarette users can vape away from the building and away from other residents. Vaping indoors or anywhere outside the designated areas is strictly prohibited.

Bilingual Staff:

Platinum Care 365 has bilingual staff and caregivers who speak English and Phillipines to help communicate with residents who prefer to speak in their native language.

Short-Term / Respite Care:

Platinum Care 365 offers Short-Term / Respite Care with daily rates for anyone who needs to stay for less than a month. Respite Care services can offer relief for current caregivers, allowing them to take a much-needed break.

Onsite Rehabilitative Services:

This facility offers in-house rehabilitative services. These services may vary from providing assistance with stretching, range-of-motion, or following a prescribed at-home plan, to a full on-site exercise room with professional equipment and physical therapists. If you need onsite rehabilitative services, please make sure to verify what type of rehab services are offered at this location. Additionally, visiting therapists for scheduled physical therapy treatments may be accommodated.

Hospice Care:

They provide personalized and compassionate hospice care services for residents and their families during the end-stages of life. Respect and dignity are top priorities for residents and their families – especially during these times.

What is the cost?

The base price is $194 per day or $6,000 per month. There's a lot that's included in the base price, but assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) is typically not included. ADLs are common daily tasks such as grooming, dressing, eating and bathing (among others). The final price is different for each resident, and is determined according to how much daily care and assistance with ADLs is required each day.

What's included in the base price?

Platinum Care 365 provides 24/7 supervision, emergency assistance and daily companionship as a base service for all residents.

Meals

Breakfast, lunch and dinner are included every day. Accommodations can be made for any dietary restrictions or special doctor-prescribed diets. Additional food items such as coffee, tea and snacks between meals are also included.

Medications Management

Medications Management is provided as a service for all residents. Caregivers and staff keep track of administration schedules as well as prescription refill schedules.

Blood Pressure and Weight Checks

Regular blood pressure and weight checks are done at scheduled intervals, and recorded to track irregularities.

Housekeeping and Laundry

Platinum Care 365 does all daily housekeeping throughout the home as well as in your room. Laundry is provided for your flat linens on a set schedule or sooner if needed. Your personal laundry is also washed and folded regularly by care staff.

Activities

A range of social and recreational activities are offered every week to keep residents occupied, entertained and engaged. Feel free to ask what types of activities are scheduled for this week.

Utilities

All standard home utilities are included in the base price. (This excludes personal cell phone plans which are paid for by the resident or family.)
