Narrows Glen is an Independent Living Community located in Tacoma, WA. Independent Living in Washington is typically for 55+ adults who are fully independent, but no longer wish to care for a household. In WA, the design of Independent Living Facilities may vary from large apartment / resort style facilities to townhome or cottage neighborhoods. Independent Living comes with a community of like-minded individuals, and is a highly social setting with common areas for residents, communal dining halls for (optional) meal plans and other various amenities. Smoking Policy:

Narrows Glen does not allow smoking on the premises, but they do allow the use of Vapor/E-cigarettes in designated areas. They have one or more designated areas outside where Vapor/E-cigarette users can vape away from the building and away from other residents. Vaping indoors or anywhere outside the designated areas is strictly prohibited.

Onsite Rehabilitative Services:

This facility offers in-house rehabilitative services. These services may vary from providing assistance with stretching, range-of-motion, or following a prescribed at-home plan, to a full on-site exercise room with professional equipment and physical therapists. If you need onsite rehabilitative services, please make sure to verify what type of rehab services are offered at this location. Additionally, visiting therapists for scheduled physical therapy treatments may be accommodated.

Hoyer Lift:

They have an on-site Hoyer lift available for those who need it, and their caregivers have proper training and experience using it.

What is the cost?

The base price is $110 per day or $3,395 per month. There's a lot that's included in the base price, but assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) is typically not included. ADLs are common daily tasks such as grooming, dressing, eating and bathing (among others). The final price is different for each resident, and is determined according to how much daily care and assistance with ADLs is required each day.

What's included in the base price?

Meals

Breakfast, lunch and dinner are included every day. Accommodations can be made for any dietary restrictions or special doctor-prescribed diets. Additional food items such as coffee, tea and snacks between meals are also included.

Medications Management

Medications Management is provided as a service for all residents. Caregivers and staff keep track of administration schedules as well as prescription refill schedules.

Blood Pressure and Weight Checks

Regular blood pressure and weight checks are done at scheduled intervals, and recorded to track irregularities.

Housekeeping and Laundry

Narrows Glen does all daily housekeeping throughout the home as well as in your room. Laundry is provided for your flat linens on a set schedule or sooner if needed. Your personal laundry is also washed and folded regularly by care staff.

Activities

A range of social and recreational activities are offered every week to keep residents occupied, entertained and engaged. Feel free to ask what types of activities are scheduled for this week.

Utilities

All standard home utilities are included in the base price. (This excludes personal cell phone plans which are paid for by the resident or family.)

Transportation

Local transportation for certain scheduled outings, as well as doctor visits is provided at no additional cost.
