I am an RN with 3 decades dedicated to healthcare. I have worked with clients in ICU, PCU and even dialysis nursing. Over time, I have realized that many seniors and adults don't just want a place to stay, they want a home where they feel safe, valued and loved. I wanted to continue my lifelong mission of caring for others, but in a more personal, intentional way.
I believe being an RN would ensure that the residents have a higher level of clinical oversight. I believe in healthy living and I do gardern, so I would incorporate those foods into our daily meals. I love games and we do a weekly game night. Scheduled outings are always going to be based on the residents preference.
My philosophy is that every person deserves to live with dignity, respect, and compassion, no matter their age or ability. I view caregiving as a calling and a partnership. Its creating an environment where they feel truly at home.
The day will be structured with clear mealtimes and at least 1 activity per day depending on clients needs and desires.
