Brief history

Marianwood was founded in 1986 by the Sisters of St. Joseph of Peace and purchased by the Providence Health System in 1996. As the only nonprofit skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility in the Issaquah/Sammamish area, our founding mission which continues to this day is to serve the poor and vulnerable, especially the elderly, disabled and chronically ill members of our community.

More Information About PROVIDENCE MARIANWOOD

PROVIDENCE MARIANWOOD is a Nursing Home located in ISSAQUAH, WA. In Washington State, Nursing Homes – also known as Skilled Nursing Facilities are facilities that provide 24-hour supervised care by a Registered Nurse (RN), a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or a combination of the three. WA Nursing Homes are reserved for individuals who require specialized care that can only be administered or supervised by a skilled nurse. Many facilities offer on-site rehabilitation in fully equipped gyms with trained physical therapists. Nursing homes have the highest number of staff per resident among the different types of assisted living, which allows them to provide very personal daily care and attention to each of their residents. They typically offer both in-room and communal dining options, as well as daily social, physical and mental activities. Unlike Assisted Living Facilities or Adult Family Homes, residents typically need a physician’s referral to be admitted to a Skilled Nursing Facility. Your doctor may even recommend a local Skilled Nursing Facility, but you ultimately have the choice to decide which facility you prefer.

Smoking Policy:

PROVIDENCE MARIANWOOD does not allow smoking on the premises, but they do allow the use of Vapor/E-cigarettes in designated areas. They have one or more designated areas outside where Vapor/E-cigarette users can vape away from the building and away from other residents. Vaping indoors or anywhere outside the designated areas is strictly prohibited.

Short-Term / Respite Care:

PROVIDENCE MARIANWOOD offers Short-Term / Respite Care with daily rates for anyone who needs to stay for less than a month. Respite Care services can offer relief for current caregivers, allowing them to take a much-needed break.

Specialized Care for Adults with Developmental Disabilities:

With a specialty in caring for adults with developmental disabilities, they have the certifications, expertise and experience to accommodate and care for disabled adults through all stages of life.

Onsite Rehabilitative Services:

This facility offers in-house rehabilitative services. These services may vary from providing assistance with stretching, range-of-motion, or following a prescribed at-home plan, to a full on-site exercise room with professional equipment and physical therapists. If you need onsite rehabilitative services, please make sure to verify what type of rehab services are offered at this location. Additionally, visiting therapists for scheduled physical therapy treatments may be accommodated.

Hospice Care:

They provide personalized and compassionate hospice care services for residents and their families during the end-stages of life. Respect and dignity are top priorities for residents and their families – especially during these times.

Hoyer Lift:

They have an on-site Hoyer lift available for those who need it, and their caregivers have proper training and experience using it.

Seeking Medicaid Resident

PROVIDENCE MARIANWOOD accepts Medicaid, and is seeking a Medicaid resident for this available room. Medicaid recipients typically need to have an assessment from Medicaid which will include the resident’s level of required care, as well as the daily and monthly dollar amount that Medicaid will cover for their care. There may also be certain waivers available for qualifying residents, which may cover additional items that Medicaid itself will not cover. Each state has very different Medicaid rules, coverages and limits, as well as different available waiver programs. If you have not already done so, please contact your local Medicaid office to determine what you need to do in order to get an official assessment, and if you qualify for any additional coverage. Once you have that, you can contact this facility (or any other facility that accepts Medicaid) and they will ask you some questions about the care you require and about your Medicaid assessment. The facility will make the final determination whether to accept a resident or not. Room & Care encourages residents to contact multiple facilities to improve their odds of being accepted faster. Facilities look at factors such as whether the resident will fit in with their other current residents, if the resident requires a similar level of care as the other residents in the facility, current number of available caregivers or a lack thereof - among other factors.

PROVIDENCE MARIANWOOD provides 24/7 supervision, emergency assistance and daily companionship as a base service for all residents.

Meals

Breakfast, lunch and dinner are included every day. Accommodations can be made for any dietary restrictions or special doctor-prescribed diets. Additional food items such as coffee, tea and snacks between meals are also included.

Medications Management

Medications Management is provided as a service for all residents. Caregivers and staff keep track of administration schedules as well as prescription refill schedules.

Blood Pressure and Weight Checks

Regular blood pressure and weight checks are done at scheduled intervals, and recorded to track irregularities.

Housekeeping and Laundry

PROVIDENCE MARIANWOOD does all daily housekeeping throughout the home as well as in your room. Laundry is provided for your flat linens on a set schedule or sooner if needed. Your personal laundry is also washed and folded regularly by care staff.

Activities

A range of social and recreational activities are offered every week to keep residents occupied, entertained and engaged. Feel free to ask what types of activities are scheduled for this week.

Utilities

All standard home utilities are included in the base price. (This excludes personal cell phone plans which are paid for by the resident or family.)

Transportation

Local transportation for certain scheduled outings, as well as doctor visits is provided at no additional cost.
