Willamette Lutheran Retirement Community is a local, non-profit active retirement living community, within an atmosphere of Christian living, provides services that meet the physical, social, psychological and spiritual need of each resident, contributing to the maximization of each person’s health, security and happiness.

Willamette Lutheran Retirement Community has been serving seniors in the Salem/Keizer area since 1962. As a non-profit community, our surplus is put back into our campus to enhance the lives of those who live in our community. We require no buy-in, just a month-to-month rental.

About

Willamette Lutheran Retirement Community (WLRC) is a Christian community offering retirement living and care to people of all faiths, and has served seniors for more than 59 years.

The inspiration for WLRC began with a group of Christians concerned with providing both physical and spiritual care for retired individuals. This founding group based it’s idea on the following goals:

To provide retirement services to individuals age 62 or older in a central location.

To provide spiritual care by including a chapel on the premises.

WLRC was incorporated in the late 1950s as a non-profit organization. The facility’s cornerstone was laid in 1962, and the first residents moved in later that year.

Willamette Lutheran Retirement Community stresses COMMUNITY, because it is the philosophy of our volunteer Board of Directors that each person is an integral part of a community.

WILLAMETTE LUTHERAN RETIREMENT COMMUNITY is an Independent Living Community located in KEIZER, OR. Independent Living in Oregon is typically for 55+ adults who are fully independent, but no longer wish to care for a household. In OR, the design of Independent Living Facilities may vary from large apartment / resort style facilities to townhome or cottage neighborhoods. Independent Living comes with a community of like-minded individuals, and is a highly social setting with common areas for residents, communal dining halls for (optional) meal plans and other various amenities. Many offer local transportation for residents. Independent Living is perfect for someone who needs no daily assistance of any kind, but prefers to spend less time on household chores such as housekeeping, laundry and meal preparation. Independent Living Communities are not suitable for residents who require any assistance with Activities of Daily Living. Independent Living communities typically have a staff of housekeepers, kitchen/dining room staff and concierge, but no caregivers. Many Independent Living Communities share a campus with Assisted Living, Skilled Nursing or Memory Care in case a transition is ever needed.
WILLAMETTE LUTHERAN RETIREMENT COMMUNITY currently has a room available, and is looking for the right resident to join their community. The available room listed here is a private 1-Bedroom Suite which may also be referred to as a 1-Bedroom Apartment or Cottage. Besides the bedroom, a 1-bedroom suite will typically include a separate living room and kitchen. The size is listed as 495 Sq Ft. The bathroom is private, and wont be used by anybody else but you.

WILLAMETTE LUTHERAN RETIREMENT COMMUNITY understands that pets are family too, and is able to accommodate your furry friend if you have one. Weight limits and additional fees may apply.

Smoking Policy:

WILLAMETTE LUTHERAN RETIREMENT COMMUNITY does not allow smoking on the premises, but they do allow the use of Vapor/E-cigarettes in designated areas. They have one or more designated areas outside where Vapor/E-cigarette users can vape away from the building and away from other residents. Vaping indoors or anywhere outside the designated areas is strictly prohibited.

Short-Term / Respite Care:

WILLAMETTE LUTHERAN RETIREMENT COMMUNITY offers Short-Term / Respite Care with daily rates for anyone who needs to stay for less than a month. Respite Care services can offer relief for current caregivers, allowing them to take a much-needed break.

Onsite Rehabilitative Services:

This facility offers in-house rehabilitative services. These services may vary from providing assistance with stretching, range-of-motion, or following a prescribed at-home plan, to a full on-site exercise room with professional equipment and physical therapists. If you need onsite rehabilitative services, please make sure to verify what type of rehab services are offered at this location. Additionally, visiting therapists for scheduled physical therapy treatments may be accommodated.

What is the cost?

The base price is $96 per day or $2,985 per month. There's a lot that's included in the base price, but assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) is typically not included. ADLs are common daily tasks such as grooming, dressing, eating and bathing (among others). The final price is different for each resident, and is determined according to how much daily care and assistance with ADLs is required each day.

What's included in the base price?

Meals

Breakfast, lunch and dinner are included every day. Accommodations can be made for any dietary restrictions or special doctor-prescribed diets. Additional food items such as coffee, tea and snacks between meals are also included.

Blood Pressure and Weight Checks

Regular blood pressure and weight checks are done at scheduled intervals, and recorded to track irregularities.

Housekeeping and Laundry

WILLAMETTE LUTHERAN RETIREMENT COMMUNITY does all daily housekeeping throughout the home as well as in your room. Laundry is provided for your flat linens on a set schedule or sooner if needed.

Activities

A range of social and recreational activities are offered every week to keep residents occupied, entertained and engaged. Feel free to ask what types of activities are scheduled for this week.

Utilities

All standard home utilities are included in the base price. (This excludes personal cell phone plans which are paid for by the resident or family.)

Transportation

Local transportation for certain scheduled outings, as well as doctor visits is provided at no additional cost.
