MEMORY CARE

McKenzie Manor is Eugene’s first memory care community. We provide care for those diagnosed with dementia. Our property is under one roof with multiple caregivers on site who are available to assist any resident immediately. With a full-time nurse, our care plans are continually monitored and our caregivers and med-aids are experienced in best care practices for residents.

Our property layout is beneficial to Alzheimer’s and dementia residents, with interiors that are warm and friendly. McKenzie Manor offers high-end services and amenities, including fun activities and events for all residents participation. Likewise, we offer a support group for family members and loved ones, and our team is always available to answer questions regarding Alzheimer’s and dementia.

Placing a passionate importance on the individual, we at McKenzie Manor have a living environment that relates to memory care residents tastes, personality, and principles. We work hard to build trust and friendship that increases emotional and bodily comfort, fostering a connection to the past, while acknowledging future potential.

Cognitive and Physical Support: Families and residents alike will appreciate the caring supervision of our dedicated, in-house staff—which includes licensed nurses – 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Not only will they offer the guidance required for personal safety and community involvement, they will also manage all medical needs, including prescription drugs and diabetes care, incontinence issues, and all of the activities of daily senior living.

MCKENZIE MANOR MEMORY CARE is a Memory Care facility located in EUGENE, OR. In Oregon, Memory Care is a term used to describe the professional care provided to individuals who suffer from Alzheimer’s or other types of dementia. Memory Care in OR can typically be found across several types of assisted living – Adult Foster Homes, Assisted Living Facilities, Residential Care Facilities, and Skilled Nursing Facilities. Memory Care is normally considered an Add-On service in addition to the daily assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) required by the resident. Aside from the specialized training and certifications required for staff and caregivers, the buildings themselves must be equipped with certain features such as special locks on the doors before they can be licensed for Memory Care. Pets:

MCKENZIE MANOR MEMORY CARE does not allow pets. This does not necessarily mean there are no pets in the facility, but that they do not allow residents to bring their own.

Smoking Policy:

MCKENZIE MANOR MEMORY CARE does not allow smoking on the premises, but they do allow the use of Vapor/E-cigarettes in designated areas. They have one or more designated areas outside where Vapor/E-cigarette users can vape away from the building and away from other residents. Vaping indoors or anywhere outside the designated areas is strictly prohibited.

Hospice Care:

They provide personalized and compassionate hospice care services for residents and their families during the end-stages of life. Respect and dignity are top priorities for residents and their families – especially during these times.

Hoyer Lift:

They have an on-site Hoyer lift available for those who need it, and their caregivers have proper training and experience using it.

Seeking Medicaid Resident

MCKENZIE MANOR MEMORY CARE accepts Medicaid, and is seeking a Medicaid resident for this available room. Medicaid recipients typically need to have an assessment from Medicaid which will include the resident’s level of required care, as well as the daily and monthly dollar amount that Medicaid will cover for their care. There may also be certain waivers available for qualifying residents, which may cover additional items that Medicaid itself will not cover. Each state has very different Medicaid rules, coverages and limits, as well as different available waiver programs. If you have not already done so, please contact your local Medicaid office to determine what you need to do in order to get an official assessment, and if you qualify for any additional coverage. Once you have that, you can contact this facility (or any other facility that accepts Medicaid) and they will ask you some questions about the care you require and about your Medicaid assessment. The facility will make the final determination whether to accept a resident or not. Room & Care encourages residents to contact multiple facilities to improve their odds of being accepted faster. Facilities look at factors such as whether the resident will fit in with their other current residents, if the resident requires a similar level of care as the other residents in the facility, current number of available caregivers or a lack thereof - among other factors.

What's included?

MCKENZIE MANOR MEMORY CARE provides 24/7 supervision, emergency assistance and daily companionship as a base service for all residents.

Meals

Breakfast, lunch and dinner are included every day. Accommodations can be made for any dietary restrictions or special doctor-prescribed diets. Additional food items such as coffee, tea and snacks between meals are also included.

Medications Management

Medications Management is provided as a service for all residents. Caregivers and staff keep track of administration schedules as well as prescription refill schedules.

Blood Pressure and Weight Checks

Regular blood pressure and weight checks are done at scheduled intervals, and recorded to track irregularities.

Housekeeping and Laundry

MCKENZIE MANOR MEMORY CARE does all daily housekeeping throughout the home as well as in your room. Laundry is provided for your flat linens on a set schedule or sooner if needed. Your personal laundry is also washed and folded regularly by care staff.

Activities

A range of social and recreational activities are offered every week to keep residents occupied, entertained and engaged. Feel free to ask what types of activities are scheduled for this week.

Utilities

All standard home utilities are included in the base price. (This excludes personal cell phone plans which are paid for by the resident or family.)

Transportation

Local transportation for certain scheduled outings, as well as doctor visits is provided at no additional cost.
