We will not settle for anything less than the best when it comes to care and caregivers. Cedar Heights AFH has awake staff at night and two day-time caregivers on the floor. All staff are educated, trained, experienced, and qualified to care for all types of residents, including those with dementia and mental health conditions. 

This AFH requires all staff members to go through a COVID-19 training course and obtain certification.

Reputation is important when it comes to choosing a good AFH. Reputation testifies to the quality of work the home has displayed in caring for other residents. In other words, don’t take our word for it. It says something when agencies and institutions reach out to the home to inquire about an opening, rather than just the home reaching out to the agents.

Our purpose and goals are to make our residents feel at home and be healthy. And, in this AFH, that goal is realized. We handle appointments, and coordinate care with other members of the healthcare team. Our past work experience ensures efficient and accurate communication with doctors, nurses, pharmacists, and therapists.

The home is equipped with various devices to ensure proper care and safety. A home without the appropriate equipment can hinder care or even place your loved in danger. Our AFH has both a Hoyer lift and sit-to-stand available, and every room comes with a complimentary hospital bed. The home has hallway handrails in addition to restroom grab bars. To prevent injury of residents, the home has chair alarms, motion sensor alarms, and exit door alarms ready. 

Every resident receives their own electronic call button to ensure that their needs are met quickly and conveniently.

Our AFH has central A/C. This is important because the summers in Seattle are getting hotter and hotter. Heat strokes and dehydration are a reality, especially in the elderly population.  The home is also backed up by a generator in case of a power outage. This is especially important to have during the fall and winter months when temperatures start to dip. 

The AFH has Security Cameras around the entire perimeter of the home on the exterior. A close eye is always being kept on the home, even remotely. 

Cedar Heights AFH also works with several additional services. We have a traveling podiatrist, a delivering pharmacy, traveling home doctors, a traveling beautician, Library On Wheels, and we work with a board-certified music therapist. The music therapist comes to the home every week to do therapy and exercises with the residents. 

The AFH works with an RN that provides initial assessments for new admissions. The AFH is RN and LPN operated thus delegations,  re-assessments, and regular annual assessment updates for the residents of the home are offered at no or discounted cost
