Room & Care is partnered with WA Cares Fund to help WA Cares beneficiaries find local available Adult Family Homes and Assisted Living Facilities that are registered to provide services through the WA Cares program.
WA Cares Fund is the nation's first public long-term care insurance program. Washington workers began contributing to the program through payroll deductions in July 2023, and benefits became available on July 1, 2026.
Eligible beneficiaries can use their earned benefit toward covered long-term care services and supports. In 2026, the full benefit is up to $36,500, and the benefit amount increases over time with inflation.
Eligibility and benefit amounts depend on an individual's contribution history and care needs.
Adult Family Homes and Assisted Living Facilities must complete the WA Cares provider registration and contracting process before they can provide services through the program. Room & Care identifies participating providers, allowing WA Cares beneficiaries and their families to quickly find facilities that can accept WA Cares benefits.
Instead of simply finding a directory of registered providers, beneficiaries can use Room & Care to search actual available Adult Family Home and Assisted Living openings and compare providers based on location, pricing, services, amenities, photos, and other preferences.
Room & Care also works to increase provider participation by educating Adult Family Homes and Assisted Living Facilities about the WA Cares program and providing a simple path to begin the contracting and registration process.
Individuals must meet WA Cares contribution and care-needs requirements before benefits can be used.
